What Happens After an Arrest
Most arrests follow the same path. The person is booked at the jail, then brought before a magistrate, who sets the bail. Once the amount is set, a bail bond agent can post the bond, and the person is released after the jail finishes processing. Timing depends on the facility, the charge, and how quickly the bond is posted.
How We Work With Families
- Call with the person's name, date of birth, and the jail if you know it.
- An agent confirms the bail amount and the bond fee, and explains the terms.
- We post the bond at the jail and keep you updated until release.
- After release, we remind you of court dates so the bond stays in good standing.
The bond fee is a percentage of the bail amount, which the judge sets. Ask for the total in writing before you sign.
